Your First Visit
Feel prepared, comfortable, and confident before your first appointment.
What to Expect
Your first appointment includes a detailed conversation, physical assessment, and a personalized care plan.
-
We review your symptoms, injury history, lifestyle, daily activities and goals.
Maybe you are looking to play tennis again, or get rid of that back pain you’ve been dealing with for years. This helps us understand why you’re here, and how we can help.
-
We assess how your body moves, including areas related to your pain or limitation.
-
This may include range of motion, orthopedic testing, neurological screening, posture, strength, and functional movement testing.
-
Dr. Humphries will explain what may be contributing to your symptoms and recommend a personalized treatment plan for you.
This may include a series of treatments to target the problem area, custom exercise and rehabilitation programs, or other alternative approaches best suited for you such as laser therapy, cupping, compression socks, or custom orthotics.
-
Treatment may begin during your first visit if it is appropriate. If at any time you have questions about your care plan, Dr. Humphries is ready to listen and tailor it your movement goals.
Personalized care, at your pace.
Your first visit is about understanding YOU. We take time to listen, assess, explain, and answer your questions so you feel informed and comfortable with your care.
You are an active partner in your treatment. Dr. Humphries will explain the options available to you, discuss the benefits and risks, and advise you on the best treatment options that align with your goals before starting care.
Care beyond the adjustment
Your treatment plan may include a combination of:
Chiropractic adjustments or joint mobilizations
Soft tissue therapy
Exercise and rehabilitation
Stretching and mobility work
Posture, ergonomic, and lifestyle advice
Sports injury care
TMJ, concussion, or vestibular-focused care when appropriate
Custom orthotics, bracing, or compression sock recommendations
Every patient has their own unique needs and approach. Your care will be based on your assessment findings, goals, preferences, and comfort level.
